Social Media Content Creator — Cape Town
This is a shoot-and-cut role for someone who thinks in vertical. You will spend a morning on a property, in a hotel or at an estate, capture the handheld coverage a reel actually needs, then cut and caption it the same week. We are less interested in follower counts than in whether your reels hold to the end.
You will work off a monthly content calendar per client, so the job is as much planning and consistency as it is filming. Hooks in the first second, captions that read without sound, and a posting cadence that does not collapse in week three.
It suits a creator who wants regular retained hours alongside their own projects.
Working in Cape Town
Cape Town is our home base — the studio address is in Melkbosstrand and most weeks run across the Atlantic Seaboard, the City Bowl and the Southern Suburbs. The work is seasonal in shape: summer brings international buyers, hospitality campaigns and estate launches, while winter shifts toward interiors, corporate portraits and studio-side production. Crew here need to be comfortable with wind, fast-changing coastal light and tight street parking outside Sea Point and Bo-Kaap addresses.
Where the work happens: Sea Point, Camps Bay, Clifton, Constantia, Bishopscourt, Hout Bay, Green Point, the V&A Waterfront, Woodstock, Somerset West and out to Melkbosstrand and Bloubergstrand.
What you'll do
- Plan a monthly content calendar per client and shoot against it
- Capture handheld vertical coverage on location — property, hospitality, brand
- Cut, caption and schedule reels to a consistent cadence
- Write short, plain captions with correct local place names and no hashtag spam
- Report on what performed and adjust the next month accordingly
What you need
- One or more years producing vertical content with results you can show
- Own phone or camera capable of stabilised 4K, plus a lav mic
- Editing in CapCut, Premiere or Resolve with clean captioning
- Own transport for on-location days
- Reliable, self-managing, comfortable on a client's premises
Nice to have
- On-camera presenting confidence
- Basic stills coverage on the same visit
- Experience with property portals or hospitality accounts
