The set is built around the craft, not the room
Every trade shoot starts with one question: what did you make here, and what should someone notice about it? On a kitchen that might be the handleless door alignment, the waterfall end on the island and the shadow-line plinth. On a bathroom it is the tile setting-out, the niche, the brassware finish and the way the shower screen meets the floor. On a bulkhead or ceiling job it is the shadow gap, the crisp return and the lighting pattern the detail was designed to hold. We shoot each of those as a deliberate frame — square-on, correctly lit, with the line of the detail carrying across the image — alongside the wide context frames. The result is a portfolio a specifier can read, not a set of pretty rooms with your name attached.
Lighting mixed installations
Trade interiors are the hardest lighting problem in property work: warm downlights, cool strip lighting under a bulkhead, daylight through one window and a mirror throwing all three back at the camera. We shoot bracketed and flash-blended depending on the space, match white balance across the set so a stone slab is the same colour in the kitchen and the scullery, and manage reflections in glass, mirror and polished stone by controlling the light rather than cloning it out afterwards. Stone and quartz surfaces get particular attention — the whole point of a Cosentino-grade slab is the vein and the depth, and a badly lit frame flattens it into grey plastic.
